Terms and Conditions

Greetings families.

We are here to support your work/school/life needs as much as possible.

Please read through the following carefully because by submitting this electronic form you are agreeing to the following:

Parent Contract:
We work at providing an atmosphere of joy, fun and nurture. If a child consistently violates that atmosphere we retain the right to terminate their enrolment. We want our children to look back on their years at Yikes with happiness in mind not where they were subjected to brash, bullying or disruptive behaviour by a few.

I consent to the Yikes staff transporting my child(ren) to or from school or to an organised activity away from the Yikes venue (eg: as part of the holiday programme schedule). I understand drivers will have their full licence, it will be current and the vehicles will be registered and warranted.

I consent to the Yikes staff (over 18 years old) administering necessary first aid or other medical assistance. (Medication needs a separate consent form to be signed).

I agree to pay fees as stipulated in the fees policy. If I do not pay the fees stipulated I understand YikesNelson will recover these costs including costs incurred for recovery and interest.

I understand invoices will state payment due date and late payment will incur penalty fees

It is my responsibility to find out Teacher Only Days or Parent/Teacher interview days and not book on those days if care is not required.

I understand I still have to pay the full fee per day booked if I cancel. A fee will not be charged if I cancel 10 working days in advance.

I understand the advertised days schedule may change due to weather, staff sickness, sometimes the children's bias in favour of something else etc. Please know we always arrange a fun alternative.

I understand I cannot send my child to the programme with any digital device

In summer, I understand if there is swimming my child must wear a rash vest or shorts and t-shirt. If no covered swimwear child(ren) cannot swim. Parents please tell your children this, we have had some children protest :-)

I understand my child is responsible for their own clothing, shoes and property and must follow instructions when asked to grab all their things. Parents please explain this to your child. We take no responsibility for items left behind or lost but we do a quick check of areas before leaving activities

You must disclose any medical/health/behavioural issues. Your child's enrolment may be terminated if medical/health issues are not disclosed.

I understand that Yikes policies and procedures are available on our website

I will notify the supervisor of any changes to enrolment information in a timely fashion

I understand that the programme retains the right to ask parents to remove their child if the supervisor and Director deem the child’s behaviour unacceptable for the standards of the service we are providing. The safety and emotional well-being of the larger group will always outweigh the tolerance of disruptive behaviour.

Staff ratios: Onsite staff/child ratio 1:10  Outings staff/child ratio 1:8   Swimming or water activities staff/child ratio 1:6

All care will be taken to provide supervision of children attending the programme in accordance with programme policies and procedures. All staff are police vetted.

At Yikes we are committed to maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of the children and families we work with. However, there are important limitations to this confidentiality. In accordance with the Oranga Tamariki Act and the Childrens Act 2014, if we believe that a child is at risk of harm, abuse, or neglect, we have a legal and ethical duty to report these concerns to the appropriate authorities. eg Oranga Tamariki or NZ Police.

Privacy Act 2020: The information that you have supplied is necessary for the safe and effective operation of the Holiday programme. You are welcome to review information pertaining to your child’s enrolment at any time.
